There is, however, one intriguing photograph, which can be viewed here, which shows the dedication of a monument to John Rankin (1793-1886) and his wife, Jean Lowrey
(1795-1878), “Freedom’s Heroes”, on the grounds of the Cemetary in Ripley, Ohio, May 1892. Note the African-American man on the far right. Could this be John Parker?
